Start a solo or collaborative session
Open the project and choose a successful preview build or the approved live-site environment
Check that you can access the page and selected version.
Start a review and choose solo or collaborative
A solo session does not create a shared guided room; the person starting a collaborative room is its host.
Use Invite collaborators in the toolbar to invite the intended people
Review the target project and session before sharing a link.
A guest opens the invitation and enters the requested name/email
Confirm the guest joins the intended room before discussing or reporting an issue.
Use the review controls
Choose Point or Element to create an annotation. Use Annotation list (L) to open existing reports and Keyboard shortcuts (?) to see the current keys.
In a collaborative room, use Guide to have participants follow you. Choose Stop guiding to release that shared control; a participant can take over when permitted. End Session closes the session rather than merely hiding the toolbar.
Use viewport controls to check the intended screen size. Enable accurate screenshots and grant the requested browser capture permission when you want that capture mode. Figma overlay requires a configured accessible design; choose the design and toggle its overlay before comparing it with the page.
Invitation and session lifetime
Review-session invitations default to seven days of validity. A revoked, expired, or wrong-room link cannot be used to join; generate a fresh intended invite instead.
Guests can report and discuss public issues within their permitted review context. They cannot read staff-only comments or use MCP for that project. Review Team & Roles before sharing internal context.
Both solo and collaborative active sessions expire after 24 hours of inactivity. A collaborative room is not guaranteed to remain open indefinitely until the host ends it. Resume through the project with a new session if the prior session has expired.
Recording and evidence
Check the permitted recording and diagnostic capabilities before reproducing a problem. Hosted review capture starts with the review; extension capture also depends on the approved device/project capabilities. Use Session replay to check that activity is available.
End the session cleanly so captured replay data can finish saving. Use Session Replays for playback, export, privacy, and missing-recording checks. Enable backend evidence before the request if server context is needed.
For reviewers working at different times, use Review Rounds instead of requiring everyone to join the same live room.
